The Setup Process
Most families are fully protected in under 20 minutes. Here's how it works:
Add protection to each device
Install a simple profile on iOS, Android, Mac, or Windows. Takes 2–3 minutes per device.
Create profiles for each child
Assign devices to kids. Set age-appropriate rules for each.
Safe defaults are applied automatically
Adult content, gambling, and known dangerous sites are blocked from the start.
Set up attention states
Create Study, Sleep, and Free Time modes. Schedule them or activate manually.
What About Routers?
Router setup is optional. Device-first protection works on Wi-Fi and mobile data without touching your router.
If you want whole-home coverage (for smart TVs, game consoles, etc.), router-level DNS setup is available as an advanced option after initial setup.
How Protection Works
DNS-based filtering
Shield uses secure DNS to filter content at the network level. This means protection works in every app, every browser, without installing monitoring software.
